John is currently state representative for district 46. He was first elected in 2011 and has been in office for five terms. He is chair of the retirement committee.

John is an accountant. He works for State Tax Incentives. He used to work for KPMG, G.E. Capital, SunTrust and Monarch Private Capital.

John is originally from Atlanta. He has a bachelor's degree in accounting from Georgia State University and a master's degree in finance from Kennesaw State University. He lives with his wife, Beverly. They have two children. They attend Johnson Ferry Baptist Church.
