John attended Mercer University, graduating with a degree in business administration. John also received an executive master's in business administration from Kennesaw State University.

John is currently director of Tourism for the Paulding County Chamber of Commerce. He is also a college instructor at Georgia Highlands College. He previously spent 16 years working for AT&T as a quality manager and specialist.

John is from Aberdeen, Washington. He attended Alabama A&M University, graduating with a degree in mechanical engineering. John received his Master’s in Aeronautical Science Specialization in Management as well as his BS in Professional Aeronautics from Embry Riddle Aeronautical University. He lives with his wife Sandy.

John is currently retired. He previously worked as an engineer for Lockheed Martin Aeronautics. He also served in the US Marine Corps and retired as Sergeant Major.

John Dean is currently serving on the Paulding County Board of Education District 5. He was elected in 2018 and has served one term.

Wants to empower teachers with the resources they need. John believes we must “visit the schools and listen to the teachers, staff, and parents as they are on the front lines”.
