Kimberly is from Western Pennsylvania. She has a bachelor's degree in biology from Westminster College and a master's degree in clinical immunology from Hahnemann University. She lives in Johns Creek with her family.

Kimberly is PTO Secretary and President of the Fine Arts Association at Northview High School. She has been a parent volunteer for 16 years. Previously, she worked in clinical laboratories as a molecular pathology technologist.
