Lorraine is currently serving as a DeKalb County Commissioner. Before this, Lorraine had a career in media. She worked for a decade at Creative Loafing Newspaper. She also founded Salons Unlimited Magazine. She is a founding member of United Front Media, a film and visual media company. In 2015, Lorraine joined Real Times Media as the General Manager of the Atlanta Daily World Newspaper. She was also the Associate Publisher of Who’s Who In Black Atlanta and VP of Business Development for RTM Properties. She has since resigned to pursue public service.

Personal background

Lorraine is originally from Greenville, Alabama. She has lived in DeKalb County for 18 years. She received a B.S. Degree in Political Science and Criminal Justice and a M.S. in The Administration of Criminal Justice from Troy University. She also earned a M.P.A. in Public Administration with a concentration in Economic Development and Grant Writing from Auburn University before attending John Marshall Law School.
