Jan Jones is currently the representative for district 47. She was first elected in 2002 and has been in office for ten terms. She was speaker pro tempore, which is the second highest position in the house.

Jan used to be a marketing manager for Home Box Office.

Jan is originally from Warner Robins. She has lived in Fulton County for 25 years. She has a bachelor's degree in journalism from the University of Georgia and a master's degree in business administration in finance from Georgia State University. She and her husband, Kalin, have four children. They attend Northpoint Community Church.
