John holds a bachelor of business administration in accounting from Georgia State University and a master of business administration in finance from Kennesaw State University. John is a certified public accountant and is employed with State Tax Incentives. John was previously employed with KPMG, G.E. Capital, SunTrust and Monarch Private Capital.

John is the current state Representative for District 46 in the Georgia House of Representatives. He was first elected in 2011. He chairs the Retirement Committee and sits on the Ways & Means, Rules, Transportation, Energy Utilities & Telecommunications, and State Planning & Community Affairs Committees.
