John Corbett is currently the representative for district 174. He was first elected in 2014 and has been in office for four terms. He used to be a member of the Echols County Board of Education and was vice chair for eight years.

John works with his brothers at Corbett Electric and Construction Co. and is also a timber farmer. He used to work as an electrician at a paper mill in Clyattville, Georgia.

John has lived in Echols County for his entire life. He has degrees from Valdosta Technical College and Valdosta State University. He and his wife, Rebecca, have one daughter and one granddaughter. They attend Sardis Baptist Church.
