Farooq holds a bachelor’s degree in sociology from Mercer University. He works as a government affairs advisor and political strategist. He is the founder of MS Global Partners, a bipartisan public policy firm.

Farooq has not previously run for public office. He served for over two years as a Legal Aide to the Chief Assistant Solicitor General of Gwinnett County.
