Jamie Miller has lived in Garland for more than 60 years. He attended Panola Junior College, has a bachelor's degree in finance from Texas Tech University, and attended Southern Methodist University's Southwestern Graduate School of Banking. He is married and has children.

Jamie is the Executive Vice President and East Market President. He works at Veritex Bank, where he has been since 2010. He previously worked at Professional Bank from 2003 to 2010, at Security Bank/Garland from 1996 to 2003, at Texas Commerce Bank-Garland/Chase from 1986 to 1996, and at American National Bank of Garland/MBank from 1981 to 1986.

Jamie is currently executive vice president and east market president for Veritex Bank. He previously worked for Professional Bank, Security Bank/Garland, Texas Commerce Bank-Garland/Chase, and American National Bank of Garland/MBank.

Jamie has served on the Garland Independent School District Board of Trustees since 2017. He is currently assistant secretary and previously served as board president.
