Dennis has spent his life in service to the citizens of Grayson County. A lifelong Grayson County resident, Dennis graduated from Denison High School, and then obtained his Associates Degree in Criminal Justice from Grayson College, followed by receiving his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Criminal Justice with a Minor in Psychology from Southeastern Oklahoma State University.

He began his law enforcement career with the Sherman Police Department and served 27 years in various capacities including patrol, criminal investigation and administration. While employed with the Sherman Police Department, he obtained his Master Peace Officer license.

Served 24 years as an investigator for the Grayson County Criminal District Attorney’s Office, supporting the work of three criminal district attorneys on behalf of crime victims.

Following retirement from the Sherman Police Department, he began a second career as an Investigator for the Grayson County Criminal District Attorney’s Office and served three Criminal District Attorneys for 24 years in support of seeking justice for the victims of crime.

Dennis Michael served Grayson County in the Criminal District Attorney’s Office from 2001 to 2024. He retired from the DA’s office, and is now Justice of the Peace 2 in Denison.
