COOKE COUNTY, Texas (KXII) -- The 235th District Judge appointed Marci Gilbert as the new Cooke County District Clerk on Friday.

This comes one day after former Cooke County District Clerk Susan Hughes pleaded guilty to one count of theft by a public servant and retired.

Gilbert has worked for Cooke County as Justice of the Peace for seventeen years, and as Chief Clerk for the past eleven years.

COOKE COUNTY, Texas (KXII) -- The 235th District Judge appointed Marci Gilbert as the new Cooke County District Clerk on Friday.

This comes one day after former Cooke County District Clerk Susan Hughes pleaded guilty to one count of theft by a public servant and retired.
