Kenda is the Rockwall County Criminal District Attorney. She previously worked as a prosecutor in the trial division of the Dallas County District Attorney's Office and later practiced criminal law throughout Texas. She co-founded the Rockwall County Children's Advocacy Center and the North Texas Regional Veterans Court, the first of its kind in the nation.

Kenda is currently the Rockwall County District Attorney. She was first elected to this position in 2008 and has been re-elected to office continuously since then.

As a county prosecutor, co-founded the Children’s Advocacy Center of Rockwall County and helped create the first regional veteran’s court.

Believes in "swift and aggressive prosecution" to maintain safety and uphold Rockwall County's reputation for being "tough on crime."

Kenda is from New Braunfels, Texas. She attended Texas A&M University. She has a Juris Doctor degree from Southern Methodist University School of Law. She lives with her husband, Jim Pruitt, and their daughter in Rockwall. She attends the First United Methodist Church of Rockwall.

As a faculty member of the state-wide “Texas Trial College,” she has been involved with some of the top-ranked trial lawyers in Texas while in private practice.

As a faculty member of the "WEST" program, she taught weapons law and self-defense law to attorneys and law enforcement, and is regarded as an expert in these areas.

As a speaker, she has presented on various legal topics at hundreds of events and continuing legal education sessions over the last two decades.

Culpepper is the co-founder and a Past President of the Board of Directors for the Rockwall County Children’s Advocacy Center and participates in state-wide task forces addressing Family Violence, Child Abuse, and Human Trafficking.

Served as Course Director for the State Bar Advanced Criminal Law Course and participated in committees addressing eyewitness identification and exonerations.

Co-chaired the State Bar Presidential Task Force during the COVID pandemic, leading judges, prosecutors, and defense lawyers to maintain judicial proceedings.
