She began as a Deputy Treasurer and served in that capacity for 12
years. She was appointed as Treasurer in June of 1997 and then
began her first term as an Elected Official in January 1999. Katherine is currently in her 5th term.

During the 1st decade of the
21st century, the County experienced a tremendous amount of growth. The County staff
exploded from approximately 200 employees to its current 430 plus employees. During this time,
Katherine introduced the first electronic time recording system along with bringing the County
into the changing technological times to more automated banking applications. Currently, her
office is in the process of implementing a new and improved time recording system.
