My professional experience in education and my personal life experiences has provided a first hand account on how lawmakers that are detached from the impact on the lives of their constituents, prompted me to run. Education will ALWAYS be my top priority. It is imperative that the General Assembly comply with legal ruling to fully fund Leandro. The ruling in 1994 by the N.C. Supreme Court recognized the state constitutional right for every student to have access to a “sound basic education, 30 years later the Republican led General Assembly still refuses to fund. In addition to fully funding Leandro, I will continue to fight for wage increases for certified and classified employees.
