Both stealing and vandalizing campaign signs is a Class III Misdemeanor in the state of North Carolina.

"Stealing a campaign sign in North Carolina is illegal, and it does come with penalties," said Davis. "We've got cameras set up. Private citizens have cameras set up. We don't want to be doing this for another two months, we'd rather it just stop, let's just allow people to campaign how they want to campaign."
