Gaston County was allocated an initial set-aside of $162,000 by the North Carolina Housing Finance Agency to apply toward the rehabilitation of three homes within the County with the opportunity to request an additional allotment from the single family rehab loan pool. NCHFA has approved an additional set-aside amount of $247,540 for additional homes. Gaston County Housing Rehabilitation plans to assist a total of ten homes.

As a pro 2nd Amendment candidate, I support the right of individuals to keep and bear arms as outlined in the Second Amendment of the United States Constitution. This position includes support for the right to own firearms for self-defense, hunting, and other lawful purposes. It also includes opposition to any laws or regulations that would infringe upon this right.

Said the Board of Commissioners was working with the sheriff to determine the extent of overspending by the Sheriff's Office.

Chad Brown, chairman of the Gaston County Board of Commissioners, said in an interview that the Board of Commissioners is working to determine by how much the Sheriff's Office is believed to have overspent.

"It's somewhere over $3 million. We don't have an exact number. Because (the fiscal year) just ended on the 30th," Brown said. "We're trying to work with the sheriff on this to find some answers."
