Cherokee County Commissioner Jan Griggs told the outlet that she was hearing from upset parents after the county school board approved a reorganization plan. The school superintendent said public input was not legally required because no schools were slated to close. In response, Griggs said: “Even though it's not required by law, the right thing to do is to get public input before you make a decision that affects families, children, and communities as a whole.”
