Angela is from Lexington, Kentucky. She has a bachelor 27s degree in social work from Clark Atlanta University and a law degree from the University of Tennessee. 

Angela is an associate attorney at McBrayer, McGinnis, Leslie & Kirkland. She previously served as an assistant attorney general for Kentucky and as general counsel and elections administrator in the Kentucky Secretary of State's office. She also began her legal career as a public defender in Lexington, Kentucky, representing indigent clients in misdemeanor and felony court. Angela has also contributed to two United Nations handbooks focused on preventing recidivism and reintegrating offenders into society and regulating civilian private security services. 

Angela is currently the Fayette County Attorney. She was elected in 2022 and is serving her first term. Angela previously served three elected terms as a member of the Lexington-Fayette Urban County Council. She also served as an assistant attorney general for the Commonwealth of Kentucky.

Angela Evans

- The county attorney serves as the legal advisor and representative for the county government. Their role includes providing legal advice, conducting county business, ensuring proper financial transactions, and preventing payment of illegal or unjust bills.
- The county attorney prosecutes criminal and penal law violations in the district court. They work closely with the commonwealth’s attorney, who is responsible for prosecuting cases in the circuit court. 
- County attorneys are paid about $184,000 a year and can continue to work in private practice at the same time.
- To be eligible, must be a licensed practicing attorney for 2 years before election.
