David A. MEINERS (Incumbent
I grew up in Devondale. My parents raised six children in this city and my father still lives in the house on Devondale Drive purchased in 1970. Several of my siblings live here as well. I attended University of Kentucky.

August-October 2020 Graymoor-Devondale News (PDF)

After working several years in Lexington, I realized I missed this community. My wife, Susie and I moved back to Graymoor-Devondale in 1994. We raised two children (Caroline and Lucas) here and hope they will buy houses in our neighborhood as well. I have had the unique opportunity of experiencing my childhood and most of my adult life in this neighborhood. I feel this will help me to continue making wise decisions for our city.

We moved to Graymoor-Devondale in 1991 from the Highlands. I had gotten to know the city when I was designing the MSD sewers for the portion of the city south of Westport Road between Lyndon and Ormsby Lanes, and when the time came, we moved here and have never regretted it.

For more than 30 years my professional work has been in civil engineering and land planning in both the public and private sectors.

For more than 30 years my professional work has been in civil engineering and land planning in both the public and private sectors. I have been a member of the City Council for over 15 years and believe my background has been beneficial in many matters that have come before the Council. Since joining my Council role has been our waste management, with good service from our contractor and negotiated contract extensions for which rates have not been raised in over 10 years.

Michael ALLEN (Incumbent)
I love Graymoor-Devondale. My family moved to Applewood Lane from Winchester, KY when I was 8 years old. I grew up in this city, graduated from Waggener, and moved to UofL for college. After getting my Mechanical Engineering degree and traveling the country establishing a career in the energy industry, I knew there was only one place I wanted to raise my own family – here.

After getting my Mechanical Engineering degree and traveling the country establishing a career in the energy industry, I knew there was only one place I wanted to raise my own family – here. Now, along with my wife and two boys (ages 5 and 2) that is exactly what we are doing. We take walks, visit with neighbors, and enjoy the sense of community that this city offers - the same things I did growing up here.

Michael Allen is originally from Winchester, Kentucky, and grew up in Graymoor-Devondale. He graduated from Waggener, attended the University of Louisville, and earned a degree in mechanical engineering. He and his wife are raising two sons.

Michael Allen has worked in the energy industry.

In April, I was elected by the city council to fill an open seat. For the past six months I have been fixing and upgrading broken road signs and stop signs. I have collaborated with our city engineer to plan additional sidewalks and road paving as necessary. In September I presented a long term “Sidewalk Plan” to the council that will improve safety and convenience for walkers in our city.
