Personal background

Elliot Andrew Valdez was born into a military family, raised by a mother and father who both served in the Army.

Professional background

Elliot has a 23-year career in military and federal civilian service. He began his service as a Navy Aviation Electronics veteran, executing high-risk missions to protect pilots. He later transitioned to U.S. Army Combat Camera, where he documented military operations in Iraq with the 4th Infantry Division and in Afghanistan with the 2nd Brigade, 1st Cavalry Division. His military career also included a tour in Korea and three years as a broadcaster with the American Forces Network in Germany. Notably, he acted as a first responder and cameraman during the tragic attack at Fort Hood on November 5, 2009.

Economy

Supports raising Georgia’s minimum wage to reflect the current cost of living, ensuring full-time workers can support themselves and their families.

Believes the push for data centers is a dangerous economic gamble that harms communities, as they primarily create temporary construction jobs and drain local resources without contributing fairly to taxes.

Believes tax breaks for data centers create environmental liabilities and strain local power grids, leading to rising utility bills for residents.
