Cassandra Kirk is currently the Fulton County Magistrate Court Chief Magistrate Judge in Georgia. She was first appointed to this position by Governor Nathan Deal on December 29, 2014, effective January 2015, and subsequently won election in 2018 and re‐election in 2022. She is serving her third term.

- Magistrate Courts hear civil cases only in amounts less than $15,000. There are no jury trials in Magistrate Court. 
- Magistrate Courts hear landlord tenant dispossessory cases (i.e. a case where a landlord is seeking an eviction of their tenant) and can order evictions.
