Wesley is a farmer in Forsyth County, Georgia, where he raises beef cattle and hay. Meet Wesley Hall, a candidate for the Upper Chattahoochee Conservation Supervisor. Wesley is a farmer in Cumming, Georgia. He produces hay and raises grass-fed, grain finished beef. Wesley and his wife, Dawn, are the proud parents of four children. They are active members of Beaver Ruin Baptist Church. In addition, Wesley serves as a state director for Georgia Farm Bureau.

After studying poultry science at Gainesville State College, Wesley began a fertilizer application business to provide soil testing and nutrient management for his clients. Wesley sees this position as an opportunity to work with the county government, residents, and the extension office to host conservation workshops, field days, Stewardship Week, and education contests.

Plans to offer workshops on septic tank maintenance, teen conservation, pollinators, and urban agriculture for Forsyth County residents.

While soil and water is heavily involved in agriculture conservation, there are many programs and events relevant to homeowners. Some examples that Wesley sees as a benefit to Forsyth County residents and the Upper Chattahoochee District are septic tank health and maintenance workshop, teen conservation workshop, pollinator workshops, and urban agriculture workshop.

Wesley values our land and wants to preserve our natural resources. He asks for your vote in the November election for the position of Upper Chattahoochee Conservation Supervisor. As a soil and water conservation supervisor, Wesley would work with homeowners, landowners, business owners, and farmers equally on programs to promote soil and water conservation.

Wants to help farmers maintain farming and conservation practices that preserve Forsyth County farmland.

Wesley has a passion for taking care of the land and keeping people involved in agriculture. He wants to help farmers to stay engaged in conservation and farming practices that benefit their land and wants to do everything possible to keep farmers involved in agriculture to preserve the farmland in Forsyth County. Wesley is excited to bring his knowledge to the Upper Chattahoochee River Soil and Water Conservation District and will do his part to conserve our natural resources.

As a farmer, uses terracing, no-till drilling, and stream buffers to address erosion and water quality.

He raises hay for his cattle and commercially for the horse industry which is used to feed the horses and as mulch for the horses. The hay fields are layed out with terracing for erosion control. No-till drilling is used for reseeding the hay fields, he applies chicken litter for his fields, and he works with stream buffers to control water quality.

Budget

- The Georgia Soil and Water Conservation Commission was established in the 1930s after the Georgia Dust Bowl. 
- The Commission is in charge of conserving, improving, and protecting Georgia's natural resources, with a focus on soil and water. They run water quality improvement projects, operate and maintain dams, and conduct inspections anytime someone needs to conduct any land-disturbing activities.
- District Supervisors are responsible for providing local representation. District Supervisors work with the Georgia Soil & Water Conservation Commission and the USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service to voice their local county needs.
- District Supervisors hold monthly meetings in their counties where citizens can give input on local resource priorities from state and federal assistance programs. 
- Each county is represented by at least two district supervisors, one appointed and one elected. SWCD Managers are unpaid.
