Administration

An ecologist must either harden his shell or become a doctor who sees the marks of death in a community that believes itself well.” If short-term profits and for-profit results for a few in charge are the only goals, then we are ignoring both the economic and ecological signals required for long-term, broad success. Until recent changes, we had more of these safeguards and controls in place but they are being systematicly removed.
I ask that we pause, think this through, and impose reasonable controls and safeguards against unchecked harm—so that we may protect our national #soils and #waters for generations to come. #moral #ambition

Environment

As an elected supervisor for my local #CoosaRiver #Soil and #Water #Conservation District, I represent a collective and deeply rooted concern about the unbridled development of massive, resource-consuming centers. I do not stand against development or economic progress. I simply believe we can be more thoughtful and invest more carefully in such projects, so they do not inflict permanent and unnecessary harm.
