City Council – Johns Creek

Dilip Tunki has a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, a master’s degree in environmental engineering, and an MBA in finance from Georgia State University. He has been married to his wife, Padma, for 29 years, and they have a daughter, Sindhu.

Dilip is the business owner and CFO of Serenity Infotech, a firm specializing in information technology staffing. He has over 25 years of experience in various sectors, including roles as a civil engineer and environmental engineer in Texas and Louisiana. He has also worked in operations and finance roles.

Dilip is currently a member of the Johns Creek City Council. He was elected in 2021 and is serving his first term. He was appointed as Mayor Pro Tem in 2024.

Supports small businesses by streamlining licensing processes, creating online resource repositories, and evaluating the impact of major decisions on small businesses through surveys.

Economy

Plans to address parks staff needs to improve current and future projects.

Supports including the Legacy Center as part of the Town Center.

Helped secure donations covering over 50% of the expenses for the city's Diwali celebration, one of Johns Creek's largest and most diverse cultural events.

Proposes stimulating half-occupied retail centers at major intersections by making them destination centers.

Supports the development of Town Center, which would include restaurants and a stage.

Provided input on design elements for the Master Plan as a member of the Town Center Advisory Committee.

Supports setting and acting on renewable energy goals and starting programs to make Johns Creek an energy efficient city.

Supports incorporating solar structures in green spaces and evaluating rainwater harvesting in city parks.
