Jon was born in Stanford University Hospital in 1963 and has lived in Texas since 1979. He’s married to his wife Aminta, and they have two adult children, Janet and Bryan. The family has lived in Northwest Houston since 2007.

Jon earned a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin and has worked for over 25 years in project management and subsea systems engineering, primarily in the oil and gas industry. He also earned a Graduate Certificate in Subsea Engineering from the University of Houston in 2016.

Jon Rosenthal is a Texas State Representative for District 135. He has advocated for better public schools, healthcare reform, criminal justice reform, gun safety, and affordable housing. He brings a unique perspective as one of the few practicing engineers in the Texas Legislature, serving since the 86th Legislative session.
