As an assistant county attorney, prosecuted civil and criminal cases under state law, supervised legal and clerical staff, and conducted interviews with victims and witnesses in ongoing cases.

As a county solicitor, determined which constitutional questions the county sought review of and represented the county in legal arguments before the Ohio State Supreme Court.
