Julie Schafer currently serves as a Medina County common pleas judge within the Domestic Relations Division. She was appointed in 2022 and is running for her first official term. Julie previously served as an appeals court judge and served 1 term from 2014 to 2020, as well as a municipal court judge in Akron for 1 year after being elected in 2013.

Julie previously worked as an attorney and partner at Schafer & Carr, CO., LPA. She also served as a court appointed special advocate and guardian ad litem. Additionally, Julie has served as an arbitrator for the Better Business Association.

Julie is originally from Falling Oaks. She attended Medina High School. She earned her bachelor's degree from Hiram College, her master's degree in business administration from the University of Akron, and her law degree from the University of Akron. She currently lives in Wadsworth with her 3 children.
