Khaleel was born in Crown Heights, Brooklyn and raised in Far Rockaway, Queens. He earned a bacehlor's degree from Queens College and is currently pursuing a master's degree in urban affairs.

Khaleel serves as a Supplemental Instructor for the SEEK program at Queens College. He has also worked as a youth organizer for a non-profit group in the Rockaways.
