- The Commissioner of Labor enforces safety regulations and oversees inspections of elevators, amusement devices at fairs and parks, and migrant housing to ensure safe conditions.
- The Commissioner of Labor enforces labor regulations, which include workplace safety regulations, wage laws, and fair employment laws.
- The Commissioner of Labor oversees an office of over 300 employees. They appoint and assign duties to clerks, stenographers, and other employees in the department. They can adjust their benefits and assign individuals to different divisions.
