Ed earned his bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, and he has an executive business certificate from the University of Notre Dame. He served on the advisory board for the North Carolina Biomanufacturing Training and Education Center at NC State University.

Ed is a business owner and consultant. He has managed large construction projects and supervised the engineering and maintenance functions of major industrial companies.

Tim is from Greenville. He has a bachelors degree in philosophy from the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill and a law degree from the University of North Carolina School of Law. Tim currently resides in Raleigh with his wife, Landen. He volunteers as a member of the Appellate Rules Committee for the North Carolina Bar Association. 

Tim is an associate attorney for the law firm of Milberg Coleman Bryson Phillips Grossman. Previously, he was a judicial law clerk for Justice Robin E. Hudson in the Supreme Court of North Carolina and for Chief Judge Linda M. McGee in the North Carolina Court of Appeals. He has served in many legal and political internships.
