Lethia graduated from Clear Run High School, then studied at Temple University. She has earned the NAACP Service Award, the Mt. Calvary Development Service Award, and the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Award.

Lethia has experience as a family service case worker for Sampson County Schools, and an income maintenance caseworker for Sampson County.

Lethia R. Lee is currently a Sampson County Commissioner. She was elected in 2020 and is serving her first term. She was the first Black woman to serve in this position.
