Jimmie Silver previously served as a tribal council member and school board member for the Haliwa-Saponi Indian Tribe of North Carolina.

Jimmie is currently retired. Previously, he worked for the Haliwa-Saponi Indian Tribe of North Carolina as an interim tribal administrator. He also worked as a first sergeant for the North Carolina State Highway Patrol, a specialist in the North Carolina National Guard, and as a patrol officer for the Rocky Mount, NC Police Department. Jimmie served in the U.S. Army as an operations specialist.

Jimmie graduated from Northwest Halifax High School, then earned his degree in criminal justice from Nash Community College and attended North Carolina State University's Administrator Officer Management Program. He is from Ita, NC, and currently lives in Enfield. He is married to his wife, Terri, with whom he has 2 daughters and 2 grandchildren.
