Retired educator Kathy Sanborn seeks East Area seat on Rowan-Salisbury School Board 

Kathy is the owner of Education4All, a business to support Crosby Scholars. She was a secondary education director in Rowan-Salisbury Schools from 2006 to 2013. After retirement, she was interim principle for Salisbury High School, North Rowan Middle School and Overton Elementary School and interim director of Exceptional Children  and as an administrator at Koontz Elementary. 

Kathy McDuffie Sanborn ran for the Rowan County Board of Education in 2020, but did not win. 

Supports using technology alongside traditional tools within a classroom, saying, “Technology is a tool...[i]t is one of the tools for our kids, but it should not be the only tool for our kids in the classroom. Pencils and paper are still good for some tasks. Hands-on activities are great."

Believes that artificial intelligence (AI) can be useful in the classroom when used properly.
