Isai earned his bachelor's degree in Spanish from Wingate University and his master's degree in Romance languages, literature, and linguistics as well as his doctorate in educational leadership and cultural foundations from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.

- The Board of Education is charged with deciding the school budget. This means they decide how to allocate money between different services, such as teacher pay, repairing school facilities, or access to technology.
