Christina is married to her husband Justin, and they have 2 children. She earned an associate's degree in fire science from Gaston College. 

Christina is currently a transition coach in communities in schools of Lincoln County and the owner and operator of North Gate Cleaning Co. Previously, she worked as a substitute teacher and children's ministry director. 

Christina Sutton currently serves as a member of the Lincoln County Board of Education. She was first elected in 2020 and is serving her first term.

- The Board of Education member hires a superintendent and can remove them when necessary. The superintendent assists the Board of Education in implementing the board’s policies. 
- The Board of Education is charged with deciding the school budget. This means they decide how to allocate money between different services, such as teacher pay, repairing school facilities, or access to technology.
- Board of Education members are elected every four years.
