Jane Everson's campaign for the Hickory City Board of Education is her first run for public office.

Jane has worked as the project principal investigator for the University of South Carolina School of Medicine, the director of training & operations at ACAPcommunity, and on the board of directors of the University of North Carolina, Greensboro's "Beyond Academics."

Jane is originally from Fairfax, VA, and now lives in Hickory. She graduated from Fairfax High School in Virginia, then earned her bachelor's degree and master's degree in special education & counseling from the University of Virginia, and her doctorate degree in urban studies from Virginia Commonwealth University. She is an Episcopalian. Jane is married.
