Molly earned her bachelor's degree in political science  and history from the University of Arizona, and her law degree from the Arizona State University College of Law. She moved to Mission Valley in 2015, and currently lives there with her husband and daughter.

Prior to her appointment, Molly worked as a town attorney for the town of St. Ignatius, the deputy county attorney for the Lake County Attorney's Office, an assistant city prosecutor, and a judicial law clerk.

Molly Owen is currently a judge for the 20th Judicial District of Montana. She was appointed in 2022.

Acts as one of the youngest judges appointed to the district bench in Montana's history.

Graduated from the ASU College of Law magna cum laude, and earned the Excellence for the Future award.
