Almaria earned a bachelor's degree in sociology from the University of Louisville, two master's degrees in interdisciplinary early childhood education and special education, and her doctorate degree in educational administration from the University of the Cumberlands.

Almaria is currently a career technical education teacher at Iroquois High School. Previously, she was the owner of Baker Early Learning Center and has held positions such as early childhood adjunct professor at Campbellsville University and Ashford University and early childhood teacher at Jefferson County Public School.
