Holly is originally from Wismar, Linden and emigrated from Guyana in 1995 to St Albans, New York. She earned her bachelor’s degree in political science and her master’s degree in business administration from Georgia State University. She earned her law degree from the University of Pittsburgh. She lives with her husband and their two children in McDonough. 

Holly was previously Associate Magistrate Court Judge for the Henry County Magistrate Court, an attorney and owner of Veal Law Firm P.C., and a senior assistant solicitor for the Henry County Solicitor's Office.

Holly Veal is currently Superior Court Judge in the Flint Judicial Circuit, where she has been since 2018 and is serving her second term.
