Bedelia has an undergraduate degree in political science and public administration from Seton Hall University and a law degree from Georgia State University. She is a member of the Constitutional Officers Association of Georgia, the DeKalb Bar Association, the Atlanta Bar Association, the Gate City Bar, the Georgia Association of Black Women Attorneys, and the DeKalb Lawyers Association. She has been a resident of the Atlanta area since 1992.

Bedelia started her legal career as an associate at an Atlanta law firm. She established the Hargrove Law Firm in 2003 which focused on fiduciary litigation, estate planning, personal injury, wrongful death, and general civil litigation. She has served in various judicial positions since 2008.
