David has a Bachelor of Science degree in forest resources and a law degree from the University of Georgia. He and his wife have five children and are members of Journey Community Church in Evans. 

David owns David Dekle Law, and practices as a trial attorney. Previously, he worked as an attorney for Fulcher Hagler.

David Dekle is currently Board of Education chair in Columbia County. He was sworn in as a school board member in 2013, and has been chairman for 7 years.
