Michael Jones is currently the state delegate representing district 9. He was first elected in 2016 and has been in office for two terms. He is also president of the Richmond City Council and chair of the finance committee. He previously ran for state delegate to represent district 69 in 2021 but did not win.

Michael is a minister at the Village of Faith.

Michael has a bachelor's degree from the University of Colorado, a master's degree in divinity from Virginia Union University, and a PhD in ministry from McCormick Theological Seminary. He lives in Richmond with his wife and three children.
