Segun is originally from Nigeria. He has a bachelor's degree in physics from the University of Lagos, a bachelor's degree in engineering from the University of Akron, and a master's degree in technology systems from Lawrence Technological University. He lives with his wife, Kofo. They have three children.

Segun is an IT planner. He works for General Motors, where he has worked for nine years. He used to work for HP and Cisco Systems.
