Mike Dugan is currently the state senator representing district 30. He was first elected in 2012 and has been in office for five terms. He is senate majority leader. He was elected as senate majority leader in 2018.

Mike is a local contractor. He is a veteran of the U.S. Army. He retired as a Lieutenant Colonel in 2008.

Mike has a bachelor's degree in history and a master's degree in organizational development from the University of West Georgia. He and his wife, Missy, have two adult children. They attend Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church.
