Matt Brass is currently the state senator representing district 28. He was first elected in 2016 and has been in office for three terms. He is chair of reapportionment and redistricting committees and vice chair of the economic development and tourism committees.

Matt is president of Brass Construction, LLC. He used to be chief of staff for U.S. representative Lynn Westmoreland. He was in the Navy.

Matt is originally from Newnan, Georgia. He attended the University of Georgia. He lives in Newnan with his wife, Megan, and three children. They attend Newnan Presbyterian Church.
