David Wilkerson is currently the representative for district 38. He was first elected in 2010 and has been in office for six terms. He was treasurer for the Democratic Caucus from 2013-2017 and chair of the Cobb County legislative delegation.

David is an accountant. He used to work at Deloitte and as a project consultant for Resources Global Professionals.

David is originally from Fort Dix, New Jersey. He has a bachelor's degree in accounting from North Carolina Agricultural & Technical State University. He and his wife, Penny, have two children. They attend Macland Presbyterian Church.
