- The treasurer works with county government departments and the public to receive and give out funds, including real estate taxes and government funding. 
- The county treasurer’s office manages banking services and debts and makes sure that the county has a high financial rating. 
- Most treasurers in Virginia are elected in odd years for four year terms. Elections are partisan.
