DeKalb County Sheriff (Special Election)
Runs county jails and keeps public safe
Full office description
The county sheriff has four main responsibilities: running the county jails, providing courtroom security, law enforcement, and community outreach. These duties allow the sheriff to make a significant impact on our communities and the criminal justice system. DeKalb County has elected Melody Maddox to become the Sheriff of Dekalb County in 2020. This is a special election runoff, to determine who will step in as interim Sheriff until Maddox assumes the role next year.
