Jim Atchison

Jim Atchison is originally from Louisville, Kentucky. He earned a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from the University of Dayton, and a master's degree in engineering management from Southern Methodist University. He lives in Van Alstyne with his wife and two daughters. They are members of First United Methodist Church in Van Alstyne, where Jim serves on the board. 



Jim is semi-retired. He previously worked as a senior engineering manager at Raytheon.


Jim is currently the mayor of Van Alstyne. He was appointed to the position in June 2020.
