He received his bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering technology from Texas Tech University and his master's degree in business administration from Ashford University. David and his wife, Mary, have two children, and live in Rockwall, Texas, and attends First United Methodist Church of Rockwall.

David is an operations officer for the Rockwall Community Emergency Response Team (CERT).

David currently works as a category manager for JPMorgan Chase & Co and as a member of the Rockwell Planning and Zoning Commission.
